County 10 is different from most of the organizations who partner with Yiftee. They are a for-profit business that provides free online news to their local community. However, County 10’s main mission is to “Connect the Community” by any means possible. Most their community is made up of small businesses who were struggling to survive during the pandemic. The 10 Spot Community Card was the perfect way to connect their community while supporting small businesses at the same time.
Being a for-profit business, County 10 reached out to the Wyoming Community Bank and the LOR Foundation to sponsor their community card program. The Wyoming Community Bank, who is incredibly supportive of their local communities, was more than happy to get onboard and help the 10 Spot Community Card in any way possible. The LOR Foundation, whose mission is to enhance the prosperity of small communities, was also very important to this program as they gave County 10 a grant to get the program started. This grant covered some of the printing, time, and advertisement costs to run the program. With these sponsorships, County 10 was able to make the program completely free to businesses. These sponsorships also made it possible for County 10 to have giveaway promotions. For example, at their “First Friday” event, they hold a BINGO tournament and give out community cards to the winners.
Keeping Local Dollars Local
“County 10 has always given away dozens of gift cards over the years, but with our 10 Spot Card, we can ensure that money is spent here locally!” - Amanda Gaudern, Operations Manager
The 10 Spot Card launched less than a year ago and has already generated more than $1,200 in revenue for their local businesses. With the help of the Wyoming Community Bank and the LOR Foundation, County 10 hopes to continue to grow the program in the future and further connect their community.
