Tis’ not the season for holiday shopping, but El Cerrito doesn’t mind! The city of El Cerrito just launched their very own community eGift Card, aptly dubbed ‘We ❤ El Cerrito’. The card, launched a few months ago, hosts a variety of different local merchants from Rockin’ Robbie’s Music Works to El Mono, a restaurant serving Peruvian food. If you’re an El Cerritan doing any early Christmas shopping, the I Heart El Cerrito card should be at the top of your list.
Created by the El Cerrito Chamber of Commerce, the eGift Card aims to support local businesses. Flyers, banners, and cute pins urging people to buy the eGift Cards to support the shops owned by neighbors, friends, and family can already be seen around town.
If you’re hoping to score a cute ‘I ❤️ El Cerrito’ pin for yourself, you can find them at the El Cerrito Farmers Market at the chamber of commerce booth. They’re a great accessory and a fantastic way to show your support for small and locally owned stores. Along with pins and flyers, the farmers market booth is offering convenient compact shopping bags to people who can prove that they’ve shopped locally twice within the past two weeks.
