Privacy Policy

We at Yiftee, Inc. (“Yiftee,” “we,” “us,” “our,”) know that our users (“you,” “your”) care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our Privacy Policy. By visiting or using the website and domain name, and any other linked pages, features, content, mobile application services, or any other services we offer from time to time by or in connection therewith (collectively, the “Website”), you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent that we will collect, use, and share your information as described below. Capitalized terms used herein without definition shall have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Use.

The Yiftee Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the Personal Information (as defined below) that you decide to share with us, and help you make informed decisions when using Yiftee. For your benefit, here is a high-level summary of some key points. This summary is provided in addition to the full details included below, so you must read the entire Privacy Policy.

Information You Share

We collect information online that you voluntarily provide to us yourself and from other sources such as Facebook and other applications. This includes but may not be limited to name, email address, phone number, purchase information and history, birthday, messages and similar information. We also collect some information about you automatically, including information regarding your use of the Website; for example, we are able to see when and where you redeem a Gift and what IP address you access the Website from.

Yiftee may collect your email address or phone number in the process of creating a Yiftee account. This information is essential for Yiftee to be able to contact you in the event of a problem with your account or if your account has unused funds.

Yiftee does not store specific credit card data, such as the full 16 digit credit card number (PAN), 3 or 4 digit code (CVV) or expiration date. This data is encrypted by Braintree software prior by being received by Yiftee and thence forwarded to Braintree for processing in a manner in which Yiftee is unable to decrypt this data. You may elect to save your credit card data for subsequent use without having to re-enter the data. In this case, a secure token that references your credit card information (as stored by Braintree) is supplied to Yiftee by Braintree and stored by us. This token contains no Personal Information and we use it to communicate your payment selection of a stored credit card to Braintree.

What Yiftee Does With Your Information

One of the ways we use your Personal Information is to allow you to send and receive Gifts and notify you and others about Gifts. Yiftee does not share any Personal Information with Merchants or others without your express permission, except in the limited circumstances described in this Policy.

There may be opportunities on the site for you to voluntarily share Personal Information about yourself, but it is up to you to decide how much of such information you want to share. Third party advertisers have no access to the Personal Information stored in your private profile, unless it is in an aggregated (i.e., non-personally-identifiable) format.

Yiftee treats data as an asset that must be protected and uses many tools and techniques to protect your Personal Information against unauthorized access and disclosure.

Please bear in mind that we cannot guarantee complete security, as third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. Please also keep in mind that anything you post publicly to the Website is available to the public, and others may abuse or misuse your Personal Information that they collect from the Website. Therefore, please consider carefully what you choose to disclose on the Website or any time you go online.

Children On Yiftee

Children under 13 are not allowed to have accounts on the Website. Children who are between 13 and 18 must get parental permission before registering for accounts on the Yiftee Site.

Third parties

This Privacy Policy addresses only the use and disclosure of information we collect. It does not cover the collection practices of third parties, or the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any third party. Yiftee does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. For example, as our service is available through Facebook Connect, you should review the privacy practices of Facebook to understand the ways they will be using your data if you log in through Facebook Connect. You should review the default privacy settings on Facebook and other applications and change them if necessary to reflect your preferences.

If you leave our site through a link, we encourage you to read the privacy statements of each and every linked website. Please see below for the full details of the Yiftee privacy practices.

Yiftee does not rent, trade, sell or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information in personally identifiable form to anyone, unless you ask or authorize us to do so. Uses of Personal Information are detailed in this policy, so please carefully read the entire policy.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Yiftee users who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please contact us at

As used in this Policy, the terms Personally Identifiable Information or Personal Information mean information that specifically identifies an individual (such as a full name, user name or email address), or information about that individual that is directly linked to information that specifically identifies an individual. Personally Identifiable Information does not include “aggregate” information, which is data we collect about the aggregate use of the Website or about a group or category of services or users, or data that has been reasonably de-identified and from which individual identities or other personally identifiable information has reasonably been removed. This Policy in no way restricts or limits our collection and use of aggregate or de-identified information. Personally identifiable information is not shared with any third party, although third parties may be able to indirectly access such information for example when sending a gift to an aggregated collection of Website users where the identity of these users is not disclosed to the third party.

This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of Personal Information that we gather when you are accessing or using the Website. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.

Yiftee does not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for the Website or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to us or on the Website. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at

Children between 13 and 18 must obtain parental permission before registering for accounts on the Website. Only people age 18 or over can purchase Gifts on the Website. You must have a valid credit card to purchase Gifts. In order to redeem a Gift, in most cases you must have a smart phone, tablet or computer that can access the Internet at the merchant’s location, or you must download the Yiftee Mobile Application available from the Apple App Store or the Android App Store, or otherwise sign up for a Yiftee account.

We have designed policies and procedures to protect both your confidentiality and the security of your information, including your nonpublic personal information. We store and process your personal information using third party servers located in secure data centers in the United States. These centers are protected by physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Additionally, Yiftee uses firewalls and data encryption. We also enforce tight restrictions on physical access to our office and files and limit digital access to sensitive data in order to ensure that only those employees who require the access to fulfill their job responsibilities actually have it.

Despite Yiftee’s efforts to keep your information secure, we cannot guarantee the security of your information. As a result, we strongly encourage you to take action to protect your personal data and any device you use to access the Website. In the unlikely event that we come to learn that either our system or your account specifically has suffered a security breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps, by email, text message, phone call, a notice on the Yiftee website, or any other way, depending on the requirements of applicable law.

Although Yiftee works very hard to keep all of its users’ information secure, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. By enabling the screen lock on your phone and/or changing your passcode, PIN, and/or pattern frequently, you can reduce the risk of someone gaining access to your information. Similarly, keeping a strong password on your Yiftee account and updating it from time to time will help prevent someone from gaining access to your account. Finally, we may, from time to time, provide links or portals to other websites or applications. Always be aware when you are leaving the Yiftee Website and entering another website or application, and be sure to review the relevant privacy policies of the other websites or applications.

To assist with the protection of personally identifiable information, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. You are responsible for all uses of the Website by any person using your password. Please advise us immediately if you believe your password has been misused. If you have any questions about security on the Website, you can contact us at

Your account is protected by a password for your privacy and security. If you access your account via a third party site or service (such as Facebook Connect), you may have additional or different sign-on protections via that third party site or service. You need to prevent unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password and/or other sign-on mechanism appropriately and limiting access to your computer and browser by signing off after you have finished accessing your account.

We endeavor to protect the privacy of your account and other Personal Information we hold in our records, but we cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of user information at any time.

The Website may contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When following a link to another site you should read that site’s privacy policy.

You understand that when you use the Website, information you provide via the Website, information you grant access to by using the Website, as well as any information you share with individuals through the Website, will be available to other users and in some cases may be made publicly available.

We are not responsible for the actions of Service Providers or other third-parties, nor are we responsible for any additional information you provide directly to any other users or third-parties, and we encourage you to become familiar with third-party privacy practices before disclosing information directly to any such third-parties. Nothing herein restricts the sharing of aggregated or anonymized information, which may be shared with third-parties without your consent.

Yiftee does not store specific credit card data, such as the full 16 digit credit card number (PAN), 3 or 4 digit code (CVV) or expiration date. This data is encrypted by Braintree software prior by being received by Yiftee (across a secure SSL-encrypted connection) and thence forwarded to Braintree for processing in a manner in which Yiftee is unable to decrypt this data. You may elect to save your credit card data (on Braintree) for subsequent use without having to re-enter the data. In this case, a secure token that references your card information stored by Braintree is supplied to us by Braintree and stored by us. This token contains no Personal Information and we use it to communicate your payment selection of a stored credit card to Braintree. When you pay with a credit card, you agree to be bound by the privacy policies of Braintree and any other financial institutions or fraud prevention services involved in the processing of credit card transactions.

We gather various types of Personal Information from our users, as explained more fully below. We may use this Personal Information to personalize and improve our services, to allow our users to set up a user account and profile, to contact users, to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, to analyze how users utilize the Website, and as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy. Although sharing is limited to respect your privacy, we may share certain types of Personal Information with third parties as set forth in this section and elsewhere in this document. We collect the following types of information:

Information You Provide to Us

We actively collect information from you in various ways when you use the Website. For example, we collect information that you voluntarily provide to us (such as when you send us an email or create a Yiftee account). This information may include personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, social network data, other account data, and financial information. Personal and demographic information may also be collected if you provide such information in connection with posting data and other activities in connection with the Website.

We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us, including, without limitation, while creating or editing your account, user profile and/or preferences on the Website. For example, during the registration, claiming or redemption processes, we may collect Personal Information such as your name, user name, Facebook ID, email address, phone number, purchase information and history, birthday, messages, IP address, browser information, credit card information, and third-party account credentials (for example, your log-in credentials for Facebook or other third party sites). If you provide your third-party account credentials to us, you are consenting to have the information in those accounts (“Third Party Account Information”) transmitted into your account with us, and that Third Party Account Information transmitted to our Website is covered by this Privacy Policy. If you are the Recipient of a Gift, you may also be required to provide your telephone number or download an application to your phone so that we can validate your identity when you claim the Gift. We may use the information you provide in connection with sending and notifying yourself and others about Gifts. We may also collect other Personal Information you provide us through your use of our services, such as optional email surveys. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of some of our special features. Please note that as described previously, Yiftee has no access to specific credit card payment information that includes the 16-digit code (PAN), CVV and expiration date although Yiftee will have access to your name and address in order to process a credit card payment.

We collect information that you provide us about other people when you purchase Gifts for them, including but not limited to one or more of: gift recipient name, Facebook ID, phone number, and email address. We also collect any personal message you transmit via the Website to the gift recipient or gift sender. We create transaction records of your Gift(s) to those persons. We collect information in the form of the content that you submit during your use of the Website, such as photos, reviews, ratings and other information you choose to submit. We may also collect information about you and your friends from any social network from which you may have connected. For instance, we may collect your user ID or profile information that you have permitted to be displayed through the Website in order to display you as a friend, or in association with your profile.

Information Collected Automatically

Whenever you interact with our Website, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, which pages you visit and when. Some of this information is aggregated via the Google Analytics service.

We may also automatically collect certain information through the use of “cookies” when you use the Service. Cookies are small data files stored permanently, transiently, or on an expiration basis on your hard drive or in memory at the request of a website that allow us to recognize your browser, your logged-in status, and tell us how and when pages in our site are visited. Among other things, cookies help us to improve the Website and your experience. If we link cookies to any personally identifiable information, we will treat this information as personally identifiable information. If you wish to block, erase or be warned of cookies, please refer to your browser manufacturer to learn about these functions. However, if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services made available via the Website or make any use of the Website impossible. The use of cookies by our partners, affiliate or Service Providers is not covered by this Policy.

We also collect usage information, including without limitation the numbers and frequency of visitors to our site and the dollar amount and frequency of credit card transactions that occur on our site. We only use this data in aggregate form, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. For example, this aggregate data tells us how often customers use parts of the Website, so that we can make the Website appealing to as many customers as possible. We may also provide this aggregate information to our partners so that they can understand how often people use their services and our Website, so that they, too, can provide you with an optimal online experience. We never disclose aggregate information to a partner in a manner that would identify you personally unless required by law.

Other automatically collected information may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address (which we may use to estimate your approximate location), unique device identifiers, your mobile number, your device model and name, your operating system, your browser type, your preferred language, and your activity on the Website. We may also automatically collect certain logistical information in server logs, including information about how you use various features of our Website and information about the number, frequency, IP address and length of each session. We also may collect information about emails you receive from Yiftee such as the IP address used to access an email, and the date and time of access. We treat this information as Personally Identifiable Information if we combine it with or link it to any of the identifying information mentioned above. Otherwise, this information is used in aggregate or de-identified form only.

In connection with our mobile applications, we may collect information about the precise geolocation of your device with your consent. Please note that our collection of geolocation is in addition to our use of your IP address to estimate your approximate location. If you initially consent to our collection of precise geolocation information via our mobile application, you can subsequently stop the collection of this information at any time by changing the preferences on your mobile device. If you do so, certain features of our mobile application may no longer function. You may also stop our collection of geolocation information by following the standard uninstall process to remove our mobile application from your device. Please note that if you opt out of our collection of geolocation information, we may still use your IP address to estimate your approximate location.

We may use Web beacons or similar technology on the Website or emails sent as a consequence of using the Website. We may link the information gathered by clear gifs to your personally identifiable information. Web beacons are small, invisible graphic images that may be used on the Website or in emails relating to the Website to collect certain information and monitor user activity on the Website, such as to count visits, monitor IP addresses of users associated with the beacon, understand usage effectiveness and to tell if an email has been opened and acted upon.

Some third party networks we work with may respond to ‘do not track’ signals. If you use a service which links to the Yiftee site, that service may or may not respond to such signals. You should consult the privacy policy of each such service you use for details. Yiftee does not respond to such signals.

Personally identifiable information is stored on secured servers, and we may store and process personally identifiable information in the United States and other countries.

We may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Website. For example, if you log into your account through a social media site, we will have access to certain information from that site, such as your name, account information, profile photo and friends lists, in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such social media

V. E-mail, text messages and Other Communications

We may contact you, by email, text message or other means; for example, we may send you promotional offers on behalf of other businesses, or communicate with you about your use of the Website, or send reminders about gifts you haven’t redeemed yet or notifications that the gift recipient has redeemed a gift or thanked you for a gift. If you do not want to receive email or other mail from us, please contact us at You may also click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email we send you. Also, we may receive a confirmation when you open an email or text message from us. This confirmation helps us make our messages more interesting and improve our service.

Any text message you receive via Yiftee will provide a mechanism for opting out of receiving further text messages via Yiftee.

Through your account settings, you may access and, in some cases, change or delete the following information you have provided to us (the exact set of information that may be modified changes from time to time as reflected when using the Website):

User Name and password

Stored payment information

The information you can view and update may change as the Website changes. If you have any questions about viewing or updating information we have on file about you, or you wish to delete your account, please contact us at

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Website service. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Yiftee keeps secure and private all of your personal information you may have provided, such as your name and address you may have provided when paying with a credit card. Any information about a gift you have sent via social media however may be accessible to a broad audience, such as the name of the gift recipient, gift message and gift description. Information pertaining to a gift sent via text or email will only be viewable by the gift recipient or any parties to whom the gift recipient has shared details of your gift. Yiftee may, in its sole discretion, elect to publish edited information about gifts you have sent, such as the gift description and the first names of the gift sender and gift recipient. Such edited information will not include contact information or last names for either the gift sender or gift recipient.

Yiftee does not rent, trade, sell or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information in personally identifiable form to anyone, unless you ask or authorize us to do so. We knowingly share your Personal Information in personally identifiable form with third parties only as described below:

A. Affiliated Businesses and Third Party Websites We Do Not Control: In certain situations, businesses or third party websites we’re affiliated with may sell items or provide services to you through the Website (either alone or jointly with us, possibly via a link to a third party website). We may, for example, sell products or provide services jointly with affiliated businesses, or work with third party websites to enhance your online experience. You can recognize when an affiliated business is associated with such a transaction or service, and we will share your Personal Information with that affiliated business only to the extent that it is related to such transaction or service. For example, we may need to share certain information about you with a Merchant, so that Merchant can allow you to redeem your Gift at its place of business; however, in that circumstance, we will not share more information than is necessary to allow that Merchant to redeem your Gift, and we will not authorize that Merchant to use the information for anything other than redeeming your Gift.

Some products and services on the Website may allow you to choose to automatically transmit information you input on the Website to your profile on a third party website, or to automatically transmit Third Party Account Information to your Website profile. We have no control over the policies and practices of third party websites as to privacy or anything else, so if you choose to allow the automatic transmissions discussed above, please review all third party websites’ policies before engaging in such automatic transmissions on the Website.

Any personally identifiable information you provide on third party or linked pages is provided directly to that third-party and is subject to that third-party’s privacy policy. This Policy does not apply to such linked websites, and we are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of these websites or any other websites that are linked to/from the Website. We encourage you to learn about their privacy and security practices and policies before providing them with personally identifiable information.

B. Agents: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you. Unless we tell you differently, our agents do not have any right to use the Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.

C. User Profiles and Submissions: User profile information, including without limitation users’ name, photo, and what Gifts a user purchased, may be displayed to other users to facilitate user interaction within the Website or address your request for our services. Any Personal Information or content that you voluntarily disclose online in a manner other users can view (on discussion boards, in messages and chat areas, within your public profile page, etc.) becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others. Your user name may be displayed to other users if and when you upload images or send Gifts or messages through the Website and other users can contact you through messages and comments. If you choose to submit any Personal Information in the optional email surveys we send you, you understand that such information may be shared with our partners; participating in such surveys is optional. Additionally, if you sign into the Website via a third party social network log-in service (such as Facebook’s “Facebook Connect”), your list of third party network “friends” may be automatically imported to the Website, and such “friends,” if they are also registered users of the Website, may be able to view certain information you have entered in your Website user profile, in accordance with your account privacy settings. Again, we do not control the policies and practices of Facebook or any other third party website.

D. Information Shared to Social Networks. If you have connected your Yiftee account to Facebook and have agreed to share information with Facebook, Yiftee will share information about Gifts, and messages you give and receive, on Facebook. Information shared to Facebook will be attributed to the Facebook account to which your Yiftee account is connected. Facebook’s use of such information is governed by Facebook’s privacy policy, and Yiftee’s use of such information is governed by this Yiftee Privacy Policy. Additionally, we may share information about your Gifts (and other associated information) with other social networks with which you have connected to Yiftee.

You can log in to the Website using sign-in services from social networks such as Facebook Connect. Certain services, like Facebook Connect, give you the option to post information and to share such information with others within your social network. If you stop using the social network from which you signed-in to use the Service, you agree that we will nevertheless retain the personally identifiable information from such social network to which you provided us access in accordance with this Policy.

The Website may include social media features, such as the Facebook Like button and widgets, the ‘Share this’ button, and interactive mini-programs that run within the Website. These features may collect your IP address, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.

E. Business Transfers: We may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. Also, if we (or substantially all of our assets) are acquired, or if we are reorganized or go through some other change of control, Personal Information would be one of the assets transferred to, disclosed to, or acquired by a third party.

F. Protection of Yiftee and Others: We may release Personal Information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with the law; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Yiftee, our employees, our users, copyright owners or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction or illegal transactions and protecting Yiftee or our users from fraudulent, abusive, inappropriate, or unlawful use of the Website.

G. With Your Consent: Except as set forth in this section, you will be notified when your Personal Information may be shared with third parties, and will be able to prevent the sharing of this information.

H. I. When you give us your consent to do so, including if we notify you on the Website that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information.

J. In an aggregated or de-identified form that does not reasonably identify you.

K. To enforce or apply this Policy, our terms or service, or our other policies or agreements.

Users who are known to the Yiftee system may receive gifts from third parties. Any recipient of a gift who does not wish to abide by this privacy policy may opt-out, such that Yiftee will not contact this recipient for any marketing or gifting purpose. Yiftee may also send gifts to users known to Yiftee on behalf of third parties without disclosing Personal Information to the third party. User selection in such cases will generally be made based on de-identified aggregated data that defines a set of targeted users, such as the set of users who have redeemed gifts at a particular merchant.

Although Yiftee does not provide your contact information, Yiftee cannot prevent someone who knows your contact information (such as email address, phone number or Facebook account) from sending you a gift. If you receive notification of a gift and do not wish to accept this privacy policy, you can opt out, such that Yiftee will not contact you any more for gifting or marketing purposes.

If you choose to use the Website to send a gift, we will ask you for your friend’s contact information. We may use telephone numbers, email addresses, or Facebook and other social networks to deliver gifts. By using the Website, you agree that you are contacting the gift recipient via the services provided by the Website and that you are entitled to contact the gift recipient via the contact information you provided. This information is retained in order to implement the gifting services, including reminding the gift recipient about unredeemed gifts and informing you of the status of a delivered gift, to whom the gift was sent, and the outcome (e.g., if the gift was redeemed or not, if the recipient thanks you for the gift, and other status related to the gift). The gift recipient may decline to accept the Yiftee privacy policy by opting out upon receipt of a gift. In this case, Yiftee will not be able to deliver messages or gifts or marketing material to the gift recipient.

In some cases, a third party who has Personal Information (not shared with Yiftee) may provide access to Gifts to you via Yiftee in such a way as Yiftee only tracks the gift by use of a shared token between Yiftee and the third party. In these cases, Yiftee may not possess any Personal Information pertaining to the gift delivery, and the privacy policy of the third party should be consulted.

You can always opt not to disclose information to us, but keep in mind some information may be needed to take advantage of some of our features.

You may be able to add or update certain information as explained in Section VI above. When you update information, however, we may maintain a copy of the unrevised information in our records.

To delete your account, please contact us at Please note that some information may remain in our private records after deletion of your account or deletion of certain information within your account. We may use any aggregated data derived from or incorporating your Personal Information after you delete such information, but not in a manner that would identify you personally.

If you do not wish to receive email or other mail from us, please contact us at You may also click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email we send you. Please note that if you do not want to receive legal notices from us, such as this Privacy Policy, those legal notices will still govern your use of the Website, and you are responsible for reviewing such legal notices for changes. Options for disabling Yiftee’s ability to text you information, such as the availability of a Gift sent to you by a friend are also provided.

Yiftee may collect information regarding your location. You may be able to prevent this collection through your device operating system settings or by following the standard uninstall process to remove our application from your device. Similarly, you may be able to control how your browser interacts with cookies.
